The Jochemich Family – in its fourth generation
For over 100 years, Wasserburg Anstel has been owned by the Jochemich family. What began in 1911 as a farm is today a vibrant riding and farm estate.
Wilfried and Ursula Jochemich stand for personal care, animal-friendly husbandry and a family atmosphere in which horses and people are equally welcome.

From a horse's first familiarisation and basic training for children to professional dressage and jumping lessons – experienced trainers are at your side.
Children's riding lessons from age 5: individual, tailored to ability – building trust and a love of riding.

Our instructors are state-certified trainers with years of experience in dressage and jumping. Every rider is supported individually – from beginner to advanced competitor.
We value harmonious training of horse and rider – respectful, competent and with genuine joy in the sport.
Rules for a harmonious community
Clear stable rules protect the horses and create reliability for all boarders. We ask all horse owners to observe the rules and treat one another respectfully.
The full stable rules cover opening hours, use of the riding facilities, feeding, vaccination requirements and conduct on the premises.
Over 870 Years of History
As far back as 1155, a document mentions a 'Sigefridus de Anstele'. Wasserburg Anstel is the oldest secular monument in Rommerskirchen. Around the year 1000, square residential towers were built – one such stone tower is contained within the castle.
The key milestones at a glance: a medieval residential tower (c. 1000), the first charter in 1155 (“Sigefridus de Anstele”), the estate passing to the Siegenhoven family c. 1400, the Baroque conversion into today’s manor house in 1722 and, since 1911, four generations of the Jochemich family.
Owned by the Jochemich family since 1911, the estate has developed from an agricultural manor into a modern riding and livery facility – without giving up its historic character. Exterior visits are possible at any time.

Right next to the riding facility, nestled among old trees, lies our idyllic fishing pond. The peaceful water is home to carp, tench, perch and white fish – inviting relaxing fishing sessions in a natural setting.
Whether a club outing, a family experience or a quiet morning by the water: fishing permits can be booked on request. The spots are naturally integrated – surrounded by rural tranquillity and fresh air.
